Kinect for Windows support?

Hi,

I have recently purchased a Kinect for research and not gaming purposed. I am using the Kinect as a 3D scanner, and I am trying to scan trees and root structures in the outdoors. I am wondering what software is usually used to save the 3D object (mesh) I
scan? I ma currently using the Kinect Fusion Explorer, but I am having some trouble with it --- there's very little support I can find online (understandably, since it's getting phased out).

It seems that the Kinect only wants to scan a certain area (a square around 1 meter in area), and no matter how long I try to scan an area around it, it does not want to register the new information into my scanned mesh.

Any advice or suggestion would be very appreciated. Thanks a lot!

It's Kinect for Windows, that is not a Dev Kit for X1. You also get two Kinect's for Windows with that price, as well as a bundle of support and dev sessions with the Kinect for Windows team at Microsoft.

Sorry to hear you are running into these problems. Kinect does not seem to be compatible with Windows 10.
