Kinect for Windows: Multiple Kinects successfully enumerate, but can only choose 1 of them...

Xbox kinect are only compatible with the same generation

So since you have the kinect 1 you can only use them on xbox 360

Kinect 2 is only compatible with xbox one

And the games are NOT forward or backwards compatible

Kinect 2 has an advance cpu to recognize siting etc but the drivers are very very specific

Xbox 360's Kinect = Kinect v1.

Xbox 1's Kinect = Kinect v2.

Don't believe BestBuy employees who probably only earn minimum wage. THEY are NOT Microsoft. Microsoft has discontinued manufacturing Xbox 360 consoles. They wouldn't discontinue manufacturing Xbox 1 Kinects, yet! There is officially NO Xbox 1 version 2
Kinect. Read the start of my post. It provides a simple answer. People just add random stuff to the title of what they're selling and it can be easy for customers to get mislead by the title.

What I meant in the parenthesis is that the version of Kinect v2 for Windows IS discontinued, but what he told me is that the Kinect v2 for Xbox One was also discontinued. I am not interested in the Kinect version 1. My question was about the Kinect v2 for
Xbox One availability.

But apparently it is still available, at least for now. Only the kinect v1 is not available on microsoft website. I had to do some research just to be sure.

Thanks for coming to the forums. We understand you are trying to set up your Kinect. If you already have the drivers installed and still not recognized. We recommend to uninstall the drivers. To do this:

Go to the configuration panel, add remove programs and Uninstall anything that stats with the word Kinect.

You can also follow the guide for
Kinect for windows. Also try the
Kinect for windows FAQ for drivers.

When you go to the FAQ you will see get the Kinect for windows SDK. Click that and download them.

[/quote]I am just throwing it out there, about the green lights. Do you have a Kinect with Kinect ID set up on multiple accounts? Because Kinect ID sometimes messes up, and detects you as somebody else. When that happens, the other account is automatically
signed in, and another green light on the console appears. This is just a guess, my Kinect does this sometimes.
