    I just changed my old Xbox One with a brand new Xbox One S. I am very happy of the purchase with the only exception that I find out that the Kinect does not work on the console without an adapter. In addition the adapter costs a
    whooping 40 dollars. I have already paid 100 euros more for the Kinect when the xbox one came out and I am not willing to pay that much more just to "convert" the kinect to my new xbox. I really dislike this behavior from big companies trying to make money
    from consumers like this. Am I the only one who feels cheated?

    Hi

    It is possible to use all Xbox One consoles without connecting a Kinect Camera so no adapter would be required. However if you intend to use a Kinect camera with the Xbox One S then you will require an adapter please see details about the adapter below.

    Preach!! It is a shame Microsoft stopped support for original Xbox One owners. They offered the adapter for free then started charging for it. $40!!! seriously? $10-20 is still to much but reasonable, $40 is outrageous to pay after spending $500 on the
    new Xbox One X.

    Any One game will work on any version of the One. The One S does need a Kinect adapter to be able to plug the Kinect into it if you are using a Kinect.

    The Kinect will work on the Xbox One X. It just needs the adapter. Assuming it's the right adapter, then it should work fine with Kinect games and voice commands.

    The Kinect is definitely not built into the Xbox One S or X. That saleman was misinformed.
