Discus and support Kinect continually needs hard shutdown to start in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; My Kinect won't start with the system, which in turn kills my voice commands for turning the system on and off, or anything else in between.     Kinect continually needs hard shutdown to start


    My Kinect won't start with the system, which in turn kills my voice commands for turning the system on and off, or anything else in between.

    I will do a hard shutdown on the system and Kinect starts up fine afterwards. The next day, I power on the system and i'm back to no Kinect. Been happening for at least a few days now.

    Yea still just goes from the xbox one start up screen to a black screen and that's it, never gets to the home screen. While my Xbox is on the black screen my Kinect continually goes on and off like it continually restarts itself. Voice commands don't seem
    to work either when the Kinect IS on. I unplugged and re-plugged in the Kinect and it seems to be hooked up right....Still hoping it works itself out haha

    Family Timer and Powering Off the Xbox

    just wondering if your using Kinect? if you do, any movement that the kinect picks up will reset the timer for auto shutdown when idle.

    Also any Controller thats connected to the console via the play and charge kit wont enable the auto idle shutoff even if its turned on.

    Not sure if your using an external Hard drive for storage but i think that also affects the auto shutdown when its pluged in?

    What feature would you like to see on the next Xbox?

    You can use any webcam there is no need for the kinect no more thats why it was shutdown

    Downloading while 360 is off?

    Your 360 will need to be on to enable the download to start, even if you queue items from the website, and you can then turn it off and continue the download providing you have Background Downloads enabled.

    To do that go to System Settings, Console Settings, Startup and Shutdown, Background Downloads, now select Enable.

    XBOX ONE KINECT TURNS OFF

    I've got my xbox one with kinect bundle less than a year ago. I've noticed that my kinect worked fine until a couple of months ago. Then I started having this aparently random shutdowns. I've tried soft and hard resets but it doesn't help. I don't know it
    it's related to a SW update or not. It' seems to be a lack of quality (SW or HW I don't know) issue if it happens to many people and in my case happened even before the 1 year warranty expired.

    Few Questions about the game

    I've got probably about 10 hours in and have noticed the game freezing/crashing several times. Had to do a hard shutdown once. I hope it's not anything that can cause RRD, this console is fairly new (bought with kinect last fall).
