Is it easier to perform manuals after a triple double (ie after holding down button for auto? Secondly, when chaining combos with manuals do some kicks and punches not work due to the force of the hit (ie lt, md, hd) or does this not matter either??...........I

You can sometimes get a manual after an auto but the timing is strict and you can pretty much only ever get a light manual, if that. Use manuals after openers and linkers. I see from your post that you are a Fulgore player, so I should point out that although
you can't do doubles after an energy blast (qcf+p) you can hit a manual (if you're within range of course) however since energy blast is quite unsafe it isn't as viable a tactic as on say, Spinal.

Some openers and linkers will leave you closer or further from the target, and for manuals the closer the better. You don't get pulled forwards for manuals like you do for autos and linkers so the distance between the two of you determines which manuals
you can use.

As a general rule of thumb, the speed of the attacks is light>medium>heavy, with the opposite bring true for range. Close range versions of moves, like Fulgore's close standing heavy punch (which is a headbutt instead of a blade thrust) trade range for speed,
but will also only activate within a certain range so you will often be out of range for them. You need to use an attack which reaches but is fast enough to come out before the opponent recovers from hitstun.

You need to check your character's frame data in practise mode to work out which manuals will work after which openers and linkers. You can cancel the last 5 frames of recovery of an opener or linker (including fireballs) into a manual, so if you take the
frame advantage on hit of a special move and add 5 and check this against the startup of your normals (turn on "show attack data" to find this) you can find which manuals are possible. However, remember the move has to actually come out, so you need to add
1 to the startup of each move to make sure it works. The longer the window, the easier it is to pull of the manual (you will have more frames to press the button in).

Example: Spinal's light boneshaker (shield charge) linker is +2 on hit. 2+5=7 so any move which comes out in 7 frames or less will hit. Crouching medium punch has 6 frames of startup so will come out, but far standing medium punch has 7 frames of startup,
so the opponent can block on the first frame it becomes active so it isn't a manual. Close standing medium punch is 6 frames and should work after a boneshaker, but its low range means this is one of the few situations it will (crouching MP is the best option
here since it actually outranges both of the others and is just as fast). Light manuals will always come out on time, but whether or not they reach, particularly after an opener, is another question, and one that can't be answered until your in the situation
yourself.
