KI 18GB update

So I stopped playing a few months ago, come again and had to update the game (15GB) last Monday (June 15th). Played a little while and today Friday 19th I have a 18GB update ready to download.

Is this game (or the servers) broken? Is it a regular behavior? I mean...I could enable the instant-on mode so the updates are applied automatically but having to install the full game for every new character or scenario sounds just wrong. If so, perhaps
waiting until the game is completed and all the characters are ready to play to install the game seems like the best option.

Do I have to download all the game every time they release a new character? Is this normal?

Yeah, Bungie forces you to download the 18gb update even if you are not buying the DLC

 

How much space do hidden op/system files take?

The 6GB that is missing, isn't actually missing. The 20GB hard drive is about 18GB when formatted. Out of that 18GB, 5GB is reserved for a hard drive cache, storage for game updates and original Xbox backwards compatibility. The Xbox 360 O.S itself is
less than 500MB.

 

Ehh, kind of. With each new update not only do you get fixes and tweaks for almost every character every time, they usually add in more content. For example, with this recent update (The one that's 18 GB), they added the retro costume of Aria, tweaks for
every character and a whole story mode for each of the season two characters.
