Globally: no, but partially globally. Quotation 1 from original question:

Gaming keyboard and mapping software:

It's a laptop keyboard and Logitech mk240 keyboard (both pretty much generic and non-gaming and with no mapping software), and both work wrong in Skyrim and Warhammer Chaosbane, and both work correct in all other apps and games.

Short version: it's the wrong keyboard driver brought by the Windows Update.

Along with a large SSD killed in course of another Windows update. Well, "update" is real cuss word now.

When trying to solve issues, it helps if we verify the details of certain troubleshooting steps which may result in some redundancy. We have a few more questions that can help us when troubleshooting:

Which version of Windows are you running now and was that the original OS of the laptop?

Did you install the driver updates from the official manufacturer's website for both your laptop and your keyboard or did you update the drivers through Windows?

Have you tried overriding the language for the default input method of your keyboard?

- Open your Settings

- Select Time & Language

- Select Language on the left panel

- In the Language menu, select Keyboard

If available, select English (United States) - US in the drop-down menu under the Override for default input method section.

Restart your PC and verify if the issue has been resolved.

If that doesn't work, you can try installing the US QWERTY keyboard.

- Open Settings

- Select Time & Language

- Select Language on the left panel

- Under Preferred Languages, if you do not see English (United States), select Add a language and add English (United States). Then select it and press Options.

- Once in the Options menu, you should see US QWERTY under Keyboards at the bottom. If you do not, select Add a keyboard and add the US QWERTY Keyboard.

Restart your PC and verify if the issue has been resolved.

Are you using a gaming keyboard that's compatible with dedicated software provided by its manufacturer? If so, we suggest verifying whether or not you can remap the keys using that program as a way to circumvent the issue.

In this case since there aren't many games that you are experiencing this issue with, we also suggest reaching out to either the manufacturer of the keyboard or the developer of the game to verify if there's an existing combability issue with the software and the hardware.

When you say that a "similar thing effected some other keys" are you saying that additional keys are having issues globally or just in the mentioned games?
