Keyboard and Mouse on xBox One

Hi,

I think xBox One could be a great console if MS will introduce support to USB keyboard and mouse.

MS know ALL Keyboard style due to Windows experience, so please allow users to use keyboard and mouse to play games like Call of duty, Battlefield, and so on.

We can use some adapter, lice
Xim 4, but I really appreciate if MS will introduce native support for Keyboard and Mouse in games.

There are lots of games that works perfectly on PC, so the input is already know by software houses (es. CoD..).

Keyboard/Mouse?

In order to keep an equal and fair multiplayer experience, you can only play with controllers on the Xbox One.

Games that work on the PC as well (like for example Gears of War 4) can be played with keyboard and mouse, but you can only play cooperative multiplayer with console owners that have to use controllers, so mouse and keyboard users don't have an advantage.

These XIM4 or Mayflash devices aren't real mouse and keyboard devices. These devices show themselves as a standard controller to the console, and when you move the mouse, the adaptor "guesses" from the speed you move the mouse, how hard it should push a
simulated controller stick in a certain direction.

These adaptors won't give you the same control as the mouse on a real PC.

When you stream the Xbox game screen to your PC, you can also only use a Xbox controller. Mouse and Keyboard won't work as a game input (you can only use the keyboard to enter text when the virtual keyboard is shown).

There are plans to get Keyboard and mouse working, if there ever is a way to stream the PC screen to the Xbox console.

But currently, if you're playing on the Xbox console, it's controller only (even if the controller is "guesstimated" with mouse and keyboard inputs).

The implementation of keyboard and mouse on xbox is up to the Developer of each game. So in this case, adding keyboard and mouse support to Gears is up to The Coalition. Id recommend posting your question/ suggestion in the Gears forums.

Some games are compatible, like COD Modern Warfare, Gears 5, Minecraft, Warframe, etc... There is even some games which support keyboard but not mouse like Mirrors Edge: Catalyst, Cube 2, Gears of War 4 and Battlefield 1.

Ok, so firstly you should be able to just plug in the mouse/keyboard USB and use it (if they are supported) you shouln't need an adapter to use mouse and keyboard on Xbox One since mouse and keyboard support has been added.

Secondly I'm not aware of black ops 4 supporting mouse and keyboard use on console, so if the developers have not enabled mouse and keyboard support on Xbox One, then using an adapter to be able to use your mouse and keyboard will be considered cheating.

I loved the keyboard /mouse controls on Gears PC. It felt so very natural.

Short answer is no.

There is no mouse/keyboard functionality written into Xbox One games as a means of primary control input. Xbox games are designed to use the controller. The case is only otherwise if your game specifically states KB/M support (on the back of the case or
somewhere online). You can plug in a KB/M and try for yourself.

The only exception is that you can use the keyboard for text input when typing messages to other people via Xbox Live, but that's about it.

If you bought the digital version of Gears 4, and you have a capable gaming PC, then you can definitely play Gears 4 on the PC with a keyboard and mouse (via Xbox Play Anywhere).
