KESU Hard drive not connecting to my Xbox One S

I recently bought a Kesu 500GB Hard drive and when i plug it into my xbox nothing pops up. The storage capacity does not go up either.

I dont know what formatting a hard drive is. But, when i plug the hard drive into any of the three USB ports on the Xbox nothing comes up, and i dont have a PC to format it on. Thank you for the help so far though.

Have you formatted the hard drive? If not, have a look here for instructions on how to do this on the console.

I installed them on my old xbox one and transferred them to the external hard drive so I know they are on the hard drive

All my installed games appear correctly as installed on my Xbox one if I connect the hard drive to it. But when I connect the hard drive to my Series S, most of the installed games appear but about 9 of them do not. The missing games appear as ready to install on my Series S
