Keep getting launch error when trying to play Gears 5 on PC

yea I was able to repair it from the c drive but for some reason I'm not able to open the easy anti cheat file within the games directory

Haven't heard back from them yet (it's been over 2 weeks) and still haven't figured it out. I've sent two emails now so hopefully they'll get back to me soon. At this point, I'm thinking the Windows version is the problem. Like I said, I can play Fall Guys, which I downloaded through Steam (and also uses Easy Anti Cheat), just fine, but I can't even get into Gears because of the stupid security error. I've tried pretty much everything to troubleshoot as well so I assume they screwed up somewhere for the Windows one.

Kind of pointless for me to have gotten game pass if the game I got it for is unplayable.

I'm having the same issue as well. I downloaded the steam version and to my surprise it works unlike the windows version. I'm still waiting to hear back from the developer and easy anti cheat. But part of me wonders if doing a clean install would help.

Have you heard back at all or figure out the issue?

Windows 10 v 21H1, no razer software, and pc matic/ webroot which I already tried disabling through their own software and msconfig.

what is the current version of windows you have installed.

do you have any razer software running in the background.

even though you disabled the antivirus, which antivirus are you using, did you disable all the services via msconfig (some thirdpoarty antivirus still partially runs even when disabled within its software.
