    Just joined the insider program, xbox is stuck on a black screen


    I just signed up for the insider program earlier this morning, downloaded the app and started downloading, the Xbox reset and has been on a black screen for about 3 hours. I can hear it's fan running, it ejects a disk and dings and accepts the dics back, my controller lights up but doesn't do anything. I'm not sure about the power button or light, those haven't worked in months. Should I be worried or is this normal? I thought about unplugging it for a while and plugging it back in but I wasn't sure if that would hurt anything.

    Black Screen of Death (Xbox One X)

    Hello there,

    I have an Xbox One X and this issue started occuring after an insider update so I presume you are also part of the insider program. Once I saw the black screen on my tv, my first instinct was to turn off or restart console but instead I ended up just pressing a bunch of the face buttons until the black screen went away. This happened to me twice afterwards the insider team released another update to fix this. Once you get past the screen, update your console and the black screen should go away.

    xbox would not load up the sign in or home page and gave me error code 0x80010119

    before this for around an hour it would not load up past the green xbox loading screen but now is stuck on the black screen after with the error code 0x80010119 showing
    I got the same error code. In my case the solution was to just open the Xbox up and remove all the (tons of) dust that was inside.

    If you are looking to test new versions of the Xbox One dashboard on your console then you should join the Xbox Insider program and this will allow you help with testing the new console software updates.

    To join the insider program download the Xbox Insider Hub app on your console and enrol your console through the app, Once you have joined the program when your XP level and tenure are high enough you will be able to join the beta tier of the program.
