Just inserted game disc and it says do I own it?

As its happening with all discs it sounds like the console disc drive is faulty.

Try the following solutions if none of your discs will play, or if you insert a disc and your console doesn’t recognise it. If your console tells you to insert a disc when a disc is already inserted, that means it doesn't recognise your disc. In these scenarios, there are two possible issues:

• The settings for Sleep mode can render a small number of consoles unable to read discs.
  
• The console's disc drive needs servicing.
  

Solution 1: If you use Sleep mode, change to Shut-down (energy saving) mode and power cycle the console

1. Press the Xbox button  on your controller to open the guide.
   
2. Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Power options.
   
3. Select Shut-down (energy saving) mode.
   
4. Perform a hard power cycle by holding down the Xbox button  on the console for 10 seconds. Once the console has completely shut down, press the Xbox button  on the console again to restart it.
   
5. Try your disc again. Wait a few seconds to see if the console recognises it. If the console can now read the disc, you can revert to Sleep mode.
   

Follow the above steps if the problem happens again.

Solution 2: Request a repair

If the previous solution didn't fix the issue, your console will need a repair. Go to Device Services to submit a service request:

This may mean that the console is not reading the discs. Kindly perform a powercycle on your console by following the steps below and then try re-launching the disc game that is currently inserted again.

I had game pass awhile back and I played games that I owned on disc through gamepass instead of inserting the disc. After game pass expired my disc games and digital games still work. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the games? Are you getting
a message saying do you own this game? Insert disc to play. Or is your xbox just not reading the disc at all?

I have the same problem with Golf Tee It Up, I managed to click through like I was buying the game again and it said I already own the game and installed, however the game won't launch it just says do I own the game and to insert disc

If you own the game like you say you do and if it's the digital downloaded version, then you should be able to find it in my games and apps under the all owned games section of Full Library. Just select the game and start the installation. If you have the disc, then insert the disc, and start the installation.
