Just got destiny, how does matchmaking work?

hello, just got destiny on level 4. wondering how does matchmaking work to play with other people? Thanks

Does " Blocking " someone prevent you from being randomly teamed up with them?

Don't know about Destiny, but I blocked a player on Gears of War Judgement and on several occasions got teamed up with him on matchmaking!

Matchmaking Service Alert

The same things just happened to me. Does anyone know how to sort this matchmaking alert out??

There is matchmaking only for certain things like strikes and crucible. Beyond those two things it's really just you trying to find friends to play with because there is no way to talk in game.

Match making in Destiny blows... there is no real way to meet up with people your rank for missions outside of forums like this, begging for help... it baffles me why Bungie didn't code in some sort of proximity voice for this game, in the tower or where
ever, to allow people to find people to play with... as it is, it's a very silent, lonely game...

This does not explain how matchmaking works in parties. Is the leader the only player the system looks at? Does it take the average skill of everyone in the party?
