Just Dance 2020 for XBOX One S - Problem with Kinect

I recently bought Just Dance 2020 for my grandson and then realized it can't be played without Kinect which he doesn't have. It didn't say when I bought it that I needed a kinect to play it and now rather than return it, what do I do since they aren't
making kinect or the adapter anymore? What is the cheapest option? Or I can return it. I'm no expert so I appreciate your help! Thanks.

Hi there,

The game is playable with a Kinenct, or a compatible smart phone. With the smart phone you have to download the controller app onto the phone to play.

Have you tried a cellphone with Just Dance Controller App? It's likely not as convenient as just dancing in front of a Kinect however it may be the only way to play the game on an Xbox One now without a Kinect hooked up. Maybe some day they will clue in
and add support for USB cameras which has been added to Xbox One consoles.

If you want the best hands free experience, Xbox One and Kinect are the way to go. If you have an Xbox One S or X you'll also need an adapter to make it compatible with the Kinect. That's the only camera
that will work for Just Dance on the Xbox. Otherwise you can use your smartphone by downloading the Just Dance app.

Yes, Just dance 2021 is compatible on the series X/S you just need a smartphone app for motion detection. The new consoles unfortunately don’t support kinect.
