June Gamertag changes

Its coming through for the Insiders now, you'll have to look under the insider forums though for that sorta answer if its for PC and not Console.

That's just a known issue with the Insider updates. If you are not in the Xbox Insiders, then you should already see them.

This is news is about Beta Insiders on the console and recently Delta ring, so it's getting closer. Next is Omega before General Availability where expectations are high for a successful integration.

The free change is only given if you were given a randomly generated tag when you created your account and are changing that for the first time. Since yours is not a randomly generated tag, you wouldn't get the free change.

However, if you haven't changed it in June 2019, you may be able to get a free change at https://social.xbox.com/changegamertag. I would recommend reading the new gamertag
policy if you haven't already before changing your tag though. https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/account-profile/profile/gamertag-update-faq

If the last time you changed your gamertag was before the update came into effect (June 2019), then you can change it for free (you would only be charged for any subsequent changes). Otherwise, you would need to pay if you want to change it even if you have an Xbox subscription.

Just keep in mind that if your new gamertag is considered inappropriate, the enforcement team may reset it to a random one and you won’t get another free change. Also, the limit is now 12 characters (was previously 16) and a unique auto-assigned suffix (eg. Gamertag#1234) would be added if someone else has the same one.
