Joystick and D-Pad inputs multiplied

While in the menu for my Xbox One Series S any imput from my joystick or d-pad is multiplied in a way. When I move my d-pad up for a quarter of a second it moves the cursor up 3-4 times, and it's like the joystick free-move thing where there is no delay when holding the joystick or d-pad down. It has been like this for a couple of months and has never done this before, it also affects both d-pad and joystick, even when I enabled the delay mode for my joystick, it also doesn't happen all the time so I know it has nothing to do with the settings. Anything I have found online has yet to work and it seems to be very common as my friend and brother both have the same problem, albeit slightly different.

Well, since this happens with 3 different controllers on 3 different consoles, this might be a bug. If the 3 controllers are updated and you already power reset and factory reset all consoles and the issue persists, I would suggest you to report it to the Xbox team:

But please try to factory reset your console (keeping games and apps) before reporting it to make sure.

I have the Microsoft Xbox Controller - Robot White, my friend and brother both have different versions of the Xbox controller, one has a custom made controller that has the same problem. And yes, this only occurs in the menu for my Xbox, same with my friend and brother.

Would you please tell me the exact joystick/controller that you have? Also, do your friend and brother (the ones that have the same problem as you) have the same or different joystick/controllers?

Does this issue happen only on the Xbox menu or in-game too?

Factory reseting my system ended up working and I am very grateful for the advice. I honestly didn't think the "turn it off and on will work" would work and lo and behold it did. I appreciate it Nilay, and thank you to the leprechaun sitting on my shoulder.
