Jade Empire (on Xbox360) downloads in French and can't get the English version, though...

Thanks, it resolved the problem on both 360 and One. I 'redownloaded' the English version from the UK-store.

It boggles my mind that this happened to begin with, though. Why only one version in a country where four languages are spoken, and why no option (in any country) to buy the 'default' English version? Why does LS choose the version for us when we want/need
the choice? Even Nintendo does that in tbe eShop.

Thank you for coming to the Xbox forums, I'd be happy to help.

Are you physically located in Belgium? There could be some regional issues with the marketplace because account migration is different on the Xbox 360 console than on the Xbox One. Your marketplace is probably registering the Belgian store and French is
the only available language for this game from the Belgian Store.

You also will need a valid billing address from the region that the marketplace is set to and where you are buying from. If you are located in Belgium than your local network IP indicates you are in Belgium and not the UK.

First check this link to see if you can migrate your account:

If you can't from the link then follow these steps:

"To change your country/region on Xbox 360, you can't simply update your location as with Xbox One. Instead, you'll need to migrate your Xbox profile, which could impact other subscriptions and services.

Here’s how to change your country/region on the Xbox 360 console:

1. Enter the email address and password for your Microsoft account, and then click
   Sign In.
2. Add a credit card and enter the billing address for your new region.
3. On your console, go to settings, and then select System.
   
4. Select Console Settings.
5. Select Language and Locale.
6. Select Locale.
7. Select the locale that you want to use."

Hi, For those complaining about licensing laws and whatnot are kinda irrelevant since the dashboard says it can be downloaded in french or english (here in Belgium) but once you download it it's the french version and no way of choosing the english version
- which they stated i could download - so how do i get the legally allowed english version to download instead of the french one.

I got the same problem here in Belgium.

When i'm checking out games on m xbox360 wether i want to buy them or not, i get my info about the games in dutch, sometimes in french and sometimes in english. I've downloaded many arcadegames before, but dragon age is my first xbox360 game i buy online.

My language is dutch (flemish), i live in the dutch speaking part of belgium and the gamedetails were written in english on my xbox360 menu (and "genre" was filled in in dutch). I bought the game and now i'm stuck with a frech written AND spoken Dragon age!!


Where should i've had noticed that i was going to buy a french game and WHY can't i just ge a normal english game (or at least a dutch version)?! ...AND, is there a way to download it again, but then in english?! I have no friend with the game in english
that i can get the game from btw.

Yes, both games were released in the language I want now (french) for XBOX360. I searched for videos in youtube and both X360 versions, show french voices. But the PAL version I bought of them, after installing in XBOX-One are directly in english, without option to change to french inside the game's menu.
