    So I'm not sure if it's just my side or not however I've noticed if I turn my TV on with the TV remote control I have no sound on Xbox...however if I turn it on via voice activation I do?

    Hi, so you get sound with display discovery off but not with display discovery turned on? Display discovery doesn't have to be enabled its just an option. So if your sound and display are ok with display discovery off just leave it off it won't hurt anything.

    Thanks for the answer. The situation I described corresponds to display discovery enabled. When display discovery is disabled, I have no sound at all when playing dvds.

    i think i've nailed it, went into display discovery and disabled it, this rebooted my console and let me change my settings back to how i had them. sound has also returned.

    Hi there,

    The issue mostly with the Display Discovery. If you go to settings>system settings> console settings > display settings and here turn off the Dsiplay Discovery or turn on if it's off and you will have sound.
