    Using an External Hard Drive... Ridiculously Slow!?

    I have a Toshiba 3 TB hard drive. I've had it for awhile now. And ever since I got it I've had games that won't install (via "installation stopped" notification) and the console in general has been slow. I always figured it was the "Xbox One Slowness" but
    recently when I've attempted to install a game. I've unplugged the Hard Drive and the games actually will install. However, I only have so many GB on my Internal Storage and I know filling up the storage makes it even slower! How do I solve this? New hard
    drive? That thing was expensive. And Microsoft never helps much when I call.

    I couldn't tell you why the game update was the entire game again, seems like it was a glitch in the update process. It's not happened to me recently, but I've seen this issue before, both on Windows and Xbox consoles. I've got Starfield on Steam, so I have no experience of this game via the Xbox App.

    Unfortunately, when games update on the Xbox app, they don't download the update and then install it, they download and install at the same time. This means if you cancel an update it will remove the entire game. This is because the game will now be incomplete and wouldn't run.

    Unfortunately you'll need to download the game again. Hopefully this will have been a one of glitch.

    Been getting this recently myself.

    Are you able to redeem the code via the xbox app on a phone or pc/laptop?

    I've had the exact same message trying to redeem 2 game codes on the console but am able to redeem them via my phone.

    One more sad old player that can't use his good old FABLE 3 on PC because of gfwl issues

    Your game is trying to connect to a server that Microsoft has removed.

    The game is running zdp.exe (Zero-Day Protection) before start-up.

    It AND GFWL servers have been taken offline.

    If you had managed to install your game on Window 10 before MS shot their horse, you'd be okay because the rest of the servers dynamically link your account to the new servers. (Xbox Live)

    I've scoured the web.

    Nobody seems to have a better answer.
