    iv bean wrongly muted on xbox live becuase of a single report from a member who was abusive in game and reported me to xbox live becuase i had ago back and he blocked me then continuyed to heras me after he blocked then i was muted i feel abused and wronly
    convicted by microsoft there after all the block feacher allowed him to heras me and then i as muted from talking to personal friends i feel this is unjust and am fully willing to go as fare as need even after the mute is over at 5pm tommz as it was an uneeded
    and un just enforcment

    Yeah, its killing me at the moment. Iv got 4 friends permanently muted -_-

    why the "x"ed out mics on on extinction?

    That means they're muted, you have to unmute them on your end.

    Ive also got the same issue on my sons xbox.

    Ive carried out the steps above including the factory reset but the muted microphone icon still appears.

    That means your headset is muted. Try un-muting by pressing the home button on your Xbox controller, and selecting it in the hot bar that comes up on the left hand side.

    im havinng a problem with the self mute for gears of war 3 ive been muted for some weeks now and cannot un mute myself. this happened when i muted everyone i the game i wasnt aware that it would mute me as well. so now im am muted for all the other games
