Items not dropping while doing beacon missions

I have been to Saturn, Cosmodrome, and Earth doing beacon missions and no items are dropping when killing the required mobs. If there is someone else running around killing stuff, items drop but not when I kill them. Anyone know what is going on?

Takes 45 minutes to make 170k+ doing the potshot playlist. Pot shot mission 16x for 10500 a time back to back missions with only lobby waiting time in between no dropping back into free roam every time

Thank you, but I did get a Specter class mod while doing the Circle of Duty missions. Note: level 69 is a pain doing Circle of Duty.

I have had this happen from time to time. What I do is abandon the quest when you first know that the items are not dropping, then go after another mission. This usually resets things and they work again. You can also try leaving to orbit, then come back
down again.

Was just on the destiny site and saw that this is a known issue. The fix suggested was one of the things I mentioned. They said to abandon the quest and pick another.

Those green beacon missions are optional and in the beta only appeared on the exploration level.

You don't have to do them. That level is meant for free roaming and totally optional. You can do those beacon missions if you want or you can just explore and do whatever you want.

Personally I explored the outer areas of the map where the enemies were so tough at level 20 it was impossible to survive with the betas level cap.

My experience is if you place a spawn beacon in a building, you drop in. If you place it outside, you parachute in. I usually look for cover when I drop a spawn beacon down, so I don't have to parachute in. I dislike parachuting in. I might as well wave
at the enemy and say "Hey. How you doing?".

The only two maps where I have had no parachuting in, regardless of where I've placed the spawn beacon (even outside), is Seine Crossing, Grand Bazaar, Tehran Highway, and Stupid Metro.
