IT won’t let me type on my on screen keyboard

If you haven't already done so, go ahead and try performing a Soft console Factory reset on your console by doing the following:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Select Settings.
Select All Settings.
Select System.
Select Console info & updates.
Select Reset console. [KEEP MY GAMES AND APPS]
Make sure you have both your email and password on hand as you will be asked to sign back in. There is an option to delete everything and to save your games and apps; choose the latter.

That's frustrating, I know on mine recently the keyboard takes a good 30secs or more to actually allow you to type.

Have you tried to recycle the xbox?

Are you trying to login to the console? Dies the on-screen keyboard come up and is it that you can't select enter? If it is the enter that is the issue, press the menu button on the controller (3 dash)

Yes I’ve reset my Xbox with keeping games and apps and it works until I get to the part where I have to connect my network but it won’t let me go on the keyboard to type for some reason that is the problem so far

What works for me sometimes is hitting B on my controller. When I want to type and the on-screen keyboard shows up, I tap B on my controller and that removes it allowing me to type with my attached keyboard.
