It won't let me login to Minecraft Java Anymore

Hi,

I've been trying to get into my Minecraft Java account a few weeks before 1.18 came out. I currently use my father's email address to login since I got Minecraft many years ago (it's actually time I change the emails for my account now that I'm an adult, if anyone knows how to fix that issue too).

I used the exact password that I 100% knew, and it was wrong. I went to my father about the issue and we were able to change the password to something new. I wrote it down everywhere even though I knew what it was anyway. When 1.18 came out, it told me to log back in, so I tried doing that and apparently the new password I just changed a few days ago was incorrect. It wasn't changed at all either which was odd.

I had already switched from Mojang to Microsoft when this happened, and I didn't do anything to somehow make the password incorrect. My dad pressed 'change password', and we never got an email from them with a code to change the password again. For weeks, we kept clicking 'change password' and then waited for an email from Microsoft to change it. We checked every single category including spam and junk emails and nope, nothing. I really want to play Minecraft again. We tried other methods but we still got nothing from Microsoft. I even tried emailing them but nothing. I don't know if this is a Minecraft error or a Microsoft error, but I've been waiting for quite a while now and I don't understand why I can't get in and why I'm also getting no response.

Hi there Johanna welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. I had the same issue while migrating try this!

If you have any other Launcher on your computer other than the one found on Mojang's official website you must first do the following:

1 - Delete the Launchers that exist on your computer that are not official Mojang;

2 - Restart your computer;

3 - Download the original software again and install:

https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download

If you don't have another Launcher on your computer or have already deleted:

1 - Open Minecraft Laucher;

2 - If you are already logged in, click on your image and Gamertag in the upper left corner of the screen and then on "Logout";

3 - If you are already logged out or not logged in to your account, delete all accounts registered in Launcher by clicking on the "X" next to each account;

4 - In Minecraft Launcher, enter the email and password of your Microsoft account!

I X'd out of my Mojang and Microsoft accounts to delete them from the launcher, and then tried to log in again, and it's still showing that I have an incorrect password.

Do you know if having Optifine installed affected it? It uses the official Mojang launcher, the only difference is that it lets you put what version you want to play, and instead of 1.17, I pressed Optifine 1.17. It wasn't giving me any issues at the time though. This only happened right when I was migrating and now for the 1.18 update.

Do you have any others ideas I could try?

Play all indications that will soon be replaced by a unified version that allows you to choose between Java and bedrock. It is supposed game pass on November 2, so I assume it would hit and all other ways at the same time

Hi, i am able to login to my microsoft account fine, but when i login to the minecraft launcher now it says i dont own minecraft java anymore and i know it was hacked because my friend said someone changed my minecraft name.
