‘It says we were unable to find a microphone for these people’ when I have a headset...

For my birthday, i was given a new headset, this was fine until i encountered a minor problem: when i turned on my xbox, it always said ‘we were unable to find a microphone for these people’. I quickly found a solution, which was to unplug my wired controller and plug it back in. Up until now i have been doing this but my controller’s a button and left stick broke. I bought a new xbox series x controller to replace it and i could connect it to my xbox one just fine but as it is wireless, i had no way to unplug and replug it. I looked on some forums and i followed the instruction. It was mostly to hard reset my xbox and to update my firmware version. I did this and now the headset works completely fine when i plug it into the broken controller and i dont have to replig it every time i turn on the xbox but it still doesnt work on the series x controller. I think this means that my headset is fine. I checked the website that was selling my headset: hyperx cloud stinger and it said that it was compatible with xbox series x. I dont know if this means series x consoles or series x controllers. The headset is fine and the controller is literally a day old so i dont think there would be problems. When it says ‘we could not find a mic for these people’ and ‘device settings’ i try pressing on the ‘device settings and i have tried everything there. I cannot hear anything and my friends cannot hear me. When in the home screen, at the top right there is a muted mic symbol. I have tried turning volume up, unmuting and muting and i cannot find a solution to it. I think its a hardware problem. I hope someone can get back to me. Noboday has had the same issue as far as ive seen.
