Issues with Xbox series X and Modern Warfare 2 install

My son has an xbox series x. He originally had the free version of modern warfare 2 installed. He purchased the game on disc and installed it. Many of the features were showing as locked and when he would try to use them, it would tell him to buy the game, but he already had it and the disc was in. He then uninstalled the free version and the purchased version and reinstalled the purchased version. The same thing keeps happening. He went into game add ons, and all of them have been installed. There are also no updates to install. He hard reset the system, signed in and out, and still he cannot use many of the features that HE PAID FOR! I don't knwo what else to do. Any suggestions? I"m a non-techy mom who is losing her mind!

For a start. I'm missing 29 games from my Xbox series X ready to install list. A few are borderlands, borderlands 2 and the pre sequel and Call of Duty Modern warfare.

I'm having the same issue with Xbox Series X. I own Modern Warfare, but no matter how many of the add-ons I install; it still says I'm missing the multiplayer pack. I've cleared cache, and installed every add-on avaiable. I'm trying a complete removal of the game, and installing again. Hopefully this will fix it, otherwise I'm running out of ideas.

Which parts of the game are locked? Can he play the single player story which is part of the full game install?

Does your son have an Xbox Live subscription to allow their account to play online? Call of Duty Warzone is a free to play game that does not require a subscription, but the standard multiplayer requires an online subscription to play.

He does have an xbox live subscription. I cannot recall of them, but there is some "shipment" thing that is locked and gunfight blueprints, multiplayer, etc. Many of those little features say "locked" and when he goes to select them, it tells them he has to purchase the game. We looked into the manage game ad ons, and he has installed everything.
