Issues with Xbox app streaming on Windows 11

the xbox companion app on windows 11 no longer streams xbox, this function has now been shifted to the xbox app for windows 11.

I see that you are having issues with remote play and playing games via the cloud on the Xbox for PC. Let me provide you with a couple of recommended solutions that hopefully will resolve the problem.

Also, other applications can interfere with apps. Please make sure the following are disabled.

Open Windows Defender and turn off real-time protection.

• In the Cortana search box, type "Windows Security"
  
• Open "Windows Security" > "Virus & Threat protection" > "Manage settings"
  
• Disable "Real-time protection"
  

Stop Windows Defender from blocking Microsoft Flight Simulator by adding the launcher to the exclusions list

• Go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection.
  
• Under Virus & threat protection settings, select Manage settings, and then under Exclusions, select Add or remove exclusions.
  
• Select Add an exclusion, and then select Microsoft Flight Simulator. A folder exclusion will apply to all subfolders within the folder as well.
  

Temporarily disable your security program(s) before launching the Xbox App

False positives occur when your antivirus software incorrectly identifies safe software as malicious. If your antivirus or anti-malware falsely flagged Microsoft Flight Simulator remove the file from quarantine, if necessary, then whitelist Xbox App. To do so follow the instructions from your manufacturer.

Console companion app is no longer supported like the rest of Windows 8

You can stream from the Xbox app built into Windows 10 and 11

he is using windows 11, streaming from console can be done in the xbox app now, no need for the companion app.

Hello amramlinebarger, sorry to hear you're having trouble.

The Xbox Console Companion app is mainly for Windows 10 and allows you to stream your Xbox One to One X consoles on Windows 10. This app does not work with the Series X/S consoles though and the Xbox app is recommended for streaming to your PC if you're running Windows 11.

If you are running Windows 11 the only way we'd ask you to try installing the app is if you were having trouble with your Xbox games just to see if that would help.
