    Issues with VRR and audio lag


    I have been using monitors since Xbox 360 and am having an issue with a monitor that i recently purchased. The monitor is 1920x1080 and 165hz, which should be plenty for me to just run 120hz at 1080. The monitor has freesync as well. When i enable VRR through video settings everything works well in game but party chat becomes very laggy. My voice cuts out when speaking and it is choppy and cuts out when people talk to me. When I disable VRR the audio in party is fine but the picture at 120hz has a lot of tear . Wondering if there is a fix or something i should try? Thanks

    165hz is a nonstandard refresh rate achieved by doing modifications to the hardware

    The electronics and software inside the TV determine performance. The same panel is frequently on a $300 and $1500 TV. That hardware has to be able to keep up with the onscreen action, which has proven difficult for some displays. It would help if you give us the exact model you have

    this is the monitor specs should be fine to run 120 hz

    Xbox One X VRR Issue

    I had the same issue using a Denon hdmi 2.1 AVR. I solved it using VRR with 120hz, but I have a hdmi 2.1 tv and a Series X, not One X. I guess you are stuck with 4k without vrr or full hd 120 and vrr. Another solution is to connect the Xbox directly to the tv and use arc/earc for audio, but One X does not support 4k 120hz, so you are stuck with full hd 120 if you use vrr.

    I have the EXACT same issue from original post with LG C9 OLED and VRR on X1X. My other issue is that I can’t tell if VRR is working in any game. There is no notification given if VRR engages like there is with HDR modes. What’s a good game to test for
