    I am trying to redeem my rewards points and am having issues with the verification portion. My phone number is my google voice number that goes to my cell phone. I talked to the support chat and the reference number is 1416461798. I was told that there was

    microsoft rewards phone verification

    just wondering; why does microsoft/bing rewards need a phone verification when i try to redeem my points?

    wouldn't an email suffice?.. i'm really baffled why you want to know my phone number so bad.

    i'd cash in a lot more points on the simple little stuff, if i didn't have to do this stupid procedure.

    Join Bing Rewards for (free) Microsoft Points!

    FYI, do NOT redeem your Bing reward points for Microsoft Points until you are ready to use them. MS points purchased with Bing points will expire, and the count down timer starts the date you redeem them. Build up your Bing rewards, and redeem them shortly
    before you intend to use them.

    Hi AgedMink. You are not a member of the Rewards program, therefore have no Rewards Credits pending to be deposited to your Microsoft account. If you are trying to redeem a gift card, you'll need to reach back out to Xbox Support, or if you are trying to
    redeem Microsoft Rewards Points, you'll need to contact their support.

    I believe the financial details are just for verification purposes, it will not charge if you redeem the reward only.
