Issues with Microsoft Accounts used with Xbox

First, welcome to the Xbox community. Strangely, when logging in with your account on the Xbox app, you would see in the upper right corner your account avatar when clicking on it was to have the option to log out, with that you would be able to log in your account preference to the app, if it is not showing for you, try the solutions below, please.

Solution 1:

Search the term WSRESET in the Windows search bar

Run the command as administrator

Wait for the window to open to close automatically

Restart your PC

Solution 2:

Uninstall the Xbox app

Restart your PC

And see if you can log in to your preferred account

Solution 3:

Log your preferred Microsoft Store account

And see if the account in the Xbox app changes.

I still need help with this issue.

Following the directions from the page it took me to, my Gamertag was not in the Privacy settings in the account that added me.

Since I was removed and the family group deleted, should they add me back and change my permissions? Would this work?

I have a Microsoft account that I use on my Xbox. However, I cannot manage my Xbox account because it always takes me to this
page when I try to go to
account.xbox.com to manage my account.

It seems to me that it thinks my account is a child’s account, which it was. On accident, someone added me to a family group as a child instead of an adult. The family group has since then been deleted. My account is not a child’s account but for some reason
account.xbox.com thinks it is. Can anyone help me to get mt account back to an adult account?

Hi there. Have you tried contacting the person who added you to the family group as the privacy settings can now only be changed from within that account. Hope you get this sorted.
