Issues with controller and headset

Alright so about two days ago an issue that I've been having with my controller and my headset has gotten much worse. Originally it started out as the headset randomly cutting out about three months ago, but recently it has progressed to high pitched sounds
exploding out of the headset any time I plug it into the controller, then after about five seconds the sound cuts out and I can't speak through the mic. This happens with no other device I own when I plug my headset in to it. I was wondering if anyone has
found a solution to this or if I need to buy another controller. Also worth noting, the headset is not from the Xbox brand, they're skull candies that I've owned for several months now and never had this issue before with any other device.

Xbox One Elite Controller Headset Issues

I had a issue simular to this. I updated my elite controller with the headset adaptor and headset plugged in. I haven't had any problems since then. Are you having headset issues with standard controller or only the elite?

I myself have had this happen quite similar. It sometimes happens in games, it's quite an annoying little glitch. You would have to end up either restarting your Xbox or Hard-Resetting, meaning unplugging for 30 seconds or so then plugging back in. Try to
keep your controller charged/charging before it dies all the way. Preferably purchase a Plug-N-Play, sometimes just unplugging your headset mid-game does this as well. You won't even need your controller to die.
