    TL;DR: Why doesn't either technical support or users have access to look at their cloud saved data directly? Also being unable to roll back to a previous save state or to manually flag a save state as a backup and not to be changed?



    Ok, so I just tried to use xbox crossplay to play State of Decay 2 on PC. I have been playing fairly regularly on the Xbox. I tried to load up State of Decay on my PC and it tried pull up a window asking if I wanted to use my cloud save or my local save which was blank. I tried to select the cloud storage but the UI glitch and I was unable to select or change anything and tried to back out of the interface by hitting the escape key. I then quit out of the game and when I came back I still didn't have access to any of my save data. I then went to try on my xbox later and all of my saved dated there was also gone.

    I went to technical support to see if they could roll back the changes but they told me they didn't have access to the saved game data or logs of changes or anything else involving that.

    Why can't at least technical support if not the users look at their saved game data in aggregate? I get the concern about wiping everything but just don't make that a feature that could be accidentally triggered.

    Also why cant users flag a particular save as immuntable to prevent total loss of saved game data? Especially for games that have a continuous saved state like State of Decay 2?

    Poor Xbox features, saving and media

    Save management should be automatic OR allow you to manage it properly, cloud storage is just a fraction of the issue I mentioned... The storage limit wouldn't be an issue if it managed the saves properly or allowed you to manage them yourself

    The cloud save folder is shows on a 360, but not on the One. There is currently no way to manage cloud storage on the One.

    Hey there Ramos,

    Sorry to hear you're having issues with your Cloud Saving.

    There is a game save stored in the cloud, but cloud save storage is not active on this console.



    To turn on cloud storage on this console: From the Dashboard > Settings > System > Storage > Cloud Saved Games > Enable Cloud Saved Games.

    no storage

    You need to manage your storage by following Support to manage storage on XBox one.

    You could also purchase a external HDD, but remember your game saves are also synchronized with the cloud.

    Noo that's terrible. It should save automatically but you can save manually by putting your character to bed. You have to make sure you are using the exact same account you started the game with of course. If it restarted your progress that means someone
    actually saved over the progress because if you have Xbox live you saves are backed up online just incase your saves on your Xbox gets corrupted. Here's some info on the storage management and cloud use.
