Issues playing Dark Souls 2 Scholar of the First Sin Online

Hi there.

I just got a 1-month free gold membership to try Dark Souls 2 online, but whenever i open the game, the message "you cannot play in online mode because you do not have online privileges" shows up.

What should I do to solve this? Can I play in online mode with free gold membership?

Dark souls 2 is not working

Are you on Vanilla (Dark Souls 2 360), or Scholar of the First Sin?

I am unsure they will since Dark Souls 2 Scholar of the First Sin is on the One.

Privileges could mean that family safety settings are enabled preventing online play. Make sure those are disabled and that your account is set to an Adult account.

Thank you for replying my my thread.

The family settings is set to an Adult account since I am the only one who uses the Xbox, and also I just checked.

However, I have just solved my problem. I was looking in the internet this morning and I found a post on another website where people were saying that with 1-month free gold membership account is a silver account which it is not possible to play in online
mode on Dark Souls 2. That's what i read.

So, i have purchased a 1-year gold membership account, and now I am able to play online.

Hello Daffodil,

The dark souls 2 scholar of the first sin is dark souls 2 definitive edition. In description states has all of dark souls 2 content released to date and much more. So the regular dark souls 2 edition will not become backward compatible.

Although could be wrong, as there is a dark souls remastered that is dark souls 1 out for Xbox one.

It was supposed to come with the digital copy of Dark Souls 2: Scholars of the First Sin if I remember correctly. If I'm wrong, no big deal.
