Issue with Xbox Series X controller LB button

Dear support,

it's already my second controller within 8 months which gives problems: the LB button stops working, or I need to press it twice to make it work.

I've left the 1st controller at the shop, got a new one, and have the same problem.

Before buying Xbox Series X I've had PS4 for several years: the controller started to give such issues after 5 years. Important to say, I play the same games now on Xbox Series X which I used to play on PS4.

How's that possible that new controllers last so short? Will Microsoft improve them? I'm in love with Xbox and the Games pass, but the controller is really terrible...

Well I've had my Xbox x series since the official launch, and so far I haven't had any problems regarding my controller, but that doesn't mean it won't happen to other people, as this type of accessory and others can be subject to failure due to mass production.

*I recommend that if you're buying another Xbox controller, try a different store if possible.

Hi Mateus,

thanks a lot for your answer. What worries me is that it has happened with 2 controllers within few months, and also playing games I've always been playing on PS4. I'm worried I'll have to exchange the controller every few months vs every few years as I was used to.

Have you had any similar issue with your Xbox Series X controllers?

Although you have said that you had this problem in a short period of time, it is not normal for it to happen, but it can happen due to lots of controls and also the store where you bought it. Heya Georges,

So I just updated my PC, checked the USB drivers, updated the elite controller, and cable tested but not sure how to see if the Xbox companion is updated or even do an update but everything looks good. I also connected my normal Xbox X series controller to my PC with the same cable and it's working fine, I'm having no issues with the LB button or any other buttons for that matter... Maybe I'm not noticing the issue when I use the elite controller on my Xbox series X. Might be an issue with the controller but I'm not sure what else there is to do before requesting a repair from microsoft.
