Issue with Wrong Gamer tag

My gamer tag is supposed to be Wildfanref but on my new Series S it’s showing Wildfanref6482. How do I get my Series S to let me sign in under Wildfanref? It still works on my Xbox One for some reason. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

This may mean that on your new Xbox Series S you’re signed in under the wrong Microsoft account.

Good thing the Xbox One is still working. Please follow the steps below in checking the Microsoft account that you need to sign in on your new Xbox.

“If you're already signed in on an Xbox console, look in the upper-left corner of the Home screen. You should see your gamertag, name, and the email that's used to sign in rotating there.

If you don't see your email address displayed, this setting may be disabled. To re-enable it:

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Sign-in, security & PIN.
3. Under Show on Home, you'll see the email or phone number you use to sign in. If you enable this setting, this account info will be displayed on your Home screen.”

Yeah totally wrong gamer tag, I want to delete it and input my gamer tag.

I know this feeling very well as I've run into the same problem with an old account. If you have updated security information in the account then you should have no problems recovering your account. If you are still unable to recover your email address but
you remember your Gamertag then I would advise that you
Contact Xbox Support to see if they can assist you further.

I factory reset it, i made my gamer tag years ago , ill try that link out in a bit thanks

Hey there Dylan,

Sorry to hear you are running into this problem. Now if you have signed into the account and it pulled up a different gamertag then you have simply logged in using the incorrect email address.

When you restarted the console it removed your accounts? or did you Factory reset (Keep games & apps)?
