Issue with the "20% off xbox live and free copy of Lovers In a Dangerous Space time" ...

I saw this promo last night, and coupled with the fact that Xcom was on free on Games with gold, I decided to renew my live account. I submitted payment at 11pm.

I received the 20% discount on my purchase, so i thought everything was fine. I received a receipt at 11:25pm but for some reason, it was showing a purchase date of 7/1. Even though the timer on the deal/promo on the xbox dashboard said i had 2+ hours remaining
on the deal. I just assumed the timer was running in a different time zone or something along those lines, But didn't think it should bother me since i was before midnight local time (ET).

After i made the purchase, the promo was still showing. I restarted the xbox thinking maybe it needed to re-sync with xbox live, but no change. And since my account wasn't showing as me as a gold member, i couldn't add Xcom to my account.

So basically, 2 out of 3 incentives that drove my decision, I haven't been able to receive. Any way you excellent support people can help me out?

I recently purchased an offer stating 20%off a year of gold subscription and a free game (lovers In a dangerous space time) I personally didn't get the game and it was not free when I attempted to download it. I started a chat with customer support and after
1-2hrs I was referred to this page.

Stated in the terms and conditions, all users who are eligible for this specific promotion will receive their Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime code by July 30th, 2016. I recommend waiting until that date, and then be sure to post back here to let us know
if the code was received or not.

When trying to download the Free Xbox 360 game with Gold, which error are you receiving? Knowing the exact error code and the message you received will help us a bunch.

I have entered this competition and it states that I have 29 days left to successfully receive a 20% discount on Gold. Funny though when proceeding to the order, it states that $79.95 is what will come out of the credit card. I am assuming that this will
have the deduction in the final but this is still really bad coding. Sounds like the people on this forum are getting Dates that may be American rather than Aussie so issues are at bay. I am posting this up just before I confirm as proof that I used the correct
Lovers Screen. This is still dodgy, wouldn't it be better to allow it from all screens plus state the price you are reducing it to, because early renewal only supports the Xbox company and it is not a real big deal to give a "FREE" game anyway.

 

I have been on chat trying to resolve the above issue of 20% discount/free Lovers game. The support team was not supportive, as I was told that I needed a screenshot as proof. I have answered the same questions some many times I can't remember.

If I was suppose to take a screenshot at purchase, I should have been either warned, the confirm button automatically executed one or better yet it automatically did on view of the message. This is easy to do from a programmers perspective and also it should
be something that is recorded on a database. Customer support tells me that it is a RANDOM selection and there is no history/database on this. Really?

Called the Microsoft Support (the Transferred to XBOX Live Support) on 13 5058... First contact states Screenshot is only option. Really? This is of course after they say they will help. Help,

 

Was transferred to Manager again. Told me SCREENSHOT. Nothing resolved. I will be Taking this further with the Australian Consumer Affairs.

believe that Xbox Live Gold was not purchased through the promotional screen.

Since it sounds like the main issue you would like addressed is the price you were charged for Xbox Live Gold, that is a billing issue and as such, we are unable to assist here on the forums with that. You would have to reach out to phone support via the
Contact Us page in order to speak with an agent.

If you continue to experience issues, please create your own thread detailing your situation as having your own thread is the best way to ensure you get assistance tailored to the issues being experienced.

I have reached out to phone support. This has still not been resolved. They said I needed proof that I clicked the Promo screen. Yes I purchased through the promo screen, NO I did not take a picture as proof. As a result they have told me that there is nothing
that they can do because the special is randomly selected. Even if this is the case, it has to be recorded in a database somewhere for legal reasons. Who in their right mind takes a photo every single purchase. This should be automatic from the XBox if that
is what they are asking. This is not legal. Their response was only telling me to send a photo or there was nothing that they could do.

I want people out there to know the rubbish that is going on. I have had other issues from XBox and they have been difficult to resolve. I am not impressed.

I also was told that I was not the first person to have issues. Others in Australia, maybe elsewhere were having issues as well. All they said, "everyone else had a screen shot.". I just could not produce one as once purchased, the LINK disappeared.

I am now placing a formal complaint.

PS. Starting a new thread did not seem practical as this was along the same problem

 

Same thing happened with me too. I pay for my live subscription pre month.(just being lazy) And saw the promo... ok i can save some money and get a free game with this so after selecting the promo, add my payment details....done. And now the promo link
disappeared. Should be all good now right?now just wait till the end of the month... Just now checking my emails for details or redeem code and was surprised to be charged full price and have no game

What to do?

 

Redeem codes won't work for promotions you must use a creditcard
