    Issue with smart TV disconnecting my Xbox from WiFi


    I have had an issue in the past with a newer smart TV i purchased for my room. whenever i use that TV, it disconnects my Xbox from the WiFi. I have talked to Microsoft support about this and nothing they told me helped, from opting out of preview, to factory resets. if my xbox is used with a separate tv and out of range of the smart tv, it works fine. Does anyone know what causes this?

    Xbox won’t connect to streaming apps or games

    Xbox turns on. But wont connect immediately. And when it does connect i still cant run anything involving internet. I know my wifi’s fine because i can stream from my smart tv, and from my phone off the wifi, so its strictly the xbox

    You may have to rest your xbox. Pick the option not to lose you apps and games.

    Hi there (sorry for my english mistakes)

    I have probably the same issue.

    When I start or restart my Xbox one X it doesn't connect to my wifi network. The name of the wifi network is written but there is no connection

    I have already try :

    - To restart my router ==> I didn't change anything for month and it worked well with my first xbox one and my actual xbox one X before this issue. All my other devices (smart tv, phone, computer) are well connected to my wifi

    - To reconnect the xbox one x to the wifi with Settings / system / network / disconnect and then new connection

    - To power cycle the console, holding the start button for 10 seconds until the console shut down and disconnecting and reconnecting the power cable

    - To restart after clearing the mac adresse

    - To do a factory reset ==> The first start after the reset, i can reconnect the console to the wifi network (so I think I have no issue with my router), but if I shut down the xbox or restart the console. I lose the network. I have to do a new factory reset
    to reconnect the console

    Likelyhood is the Vizio tv's you have both run on the same code for this function. Are they also smart TV's connected to the same wifi?

    Yes maby it’s something with the wifi.

    Just got a new wifi network. But everything else in the house work fine. I also had a smart outlet plug turned on but not connected to the wifi. Maby something here is disturbing the signals. Will remove the smart outlet wifi plug from the room and see if
    it causes the issue.
