    Issue with auto update in power save


    On a series X running the latest alpha OS. Auto update is enabled for games, apps and the OS. The console auto updates the OS fine but it does not update the games or apps. It won’t realise there is an update for a game or up until you either play the game or manually search for the update. Once the updates have been found it will then update them when it’s turn off in energy saver mode.

    Xbox One Auto Update (NOT)

    Are you using instant on or power saving mode? Do you have external hard drives? If you are using power saving mode, auto update will not work.

    Is your Xbox set to insatnt on or in power saving mode? It needs to be set to instant on for auto update to work.

    Turning off automatic game updates.

    @ Omegga,

    Go to settings, power and start up, and select energy saving mode. The Xbox will not auto update after doing that.

    If you're running the Xbox One on power saving mode you'll have an open NAT, if you're running it on quick start, voice on, auto update the NAT will be strict or moderate.

    Hi, if you have instant on mode set in the power options the fan will indeed keep spinning, try changing to energy saving mode.

    There are some drawbacks with energy saving mode though such as the Xbox will not auto update etc.
