Issue redeeming a Gift

Hi All,

I gifted my friend the new destiny 2 season pass over the weekend.

However when he tried to redeem it he get the following message:

Contact who you got this gift from. We can't redeem it.

CatalogSkuDataNotFound QEaaZrpba0O7q8tK.26.1.6.8

We are both in the same region and I have gifted him other items in the past without issue.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Currently I think there are some issues going on with the Xbox servers, so that may be why you are encountering some difficulty in redeeming your DLC code. While that doesn't help much in getting the code redeemed, I would suggest reaching out to MS customer
support as they may be able to redeem the code for your account manually while the other issues are being sorted

Thanks for the suggestion but the linked page was not able to resolve our issue.

Entering the code manually as well as selecting it in the gift message results in the same error.

Just wanted to follow up on this for anyone else that should search and run into a similar issue.

After a few MS support chats it was discovered that you need to own all the DLC first.

The error in our case was caused by the fact that Destiny 2 and destiny 2 Forsaken are considered different games. If you own Destiny 2 and its DLC you cannot redeem the second season pass if you dont own the game Destiny 2 Forsaken as again its classed
as a different game apparently.

I failed to realise the season pass for Forsaken doesn't include forsaken...

So in short if anyone else has a similar issue check if you can redeem the pass if you dont own the base game, even if the base game is now a piece of DLC.

Yea sorry for the inconvenience my friend. you do have to own all the DLC before collecting forsaken and the season pass or it wont be added to the collection. Sometimes contacting the developer of these games is the best idea because they usually know more
about the games they create. Us with Xbox support issues specifically with the Xbox console in general. The best part of the forums is you can have multiple walks of Xbox life to help support you. Some people have this issue when they are sharing over to a
