issue in adding redeem code gold membership

It wouldnt show in your order history unless it was a gold membership purachsed from the microsoft store with a debit or credit card

Has this was a prepaid membership (5x5 code) that would be added too the account you redeem the code too you can check your memberships here account.microsoft.com/services If it doesnt show added then its possable iot was redeemed too a other microsoft account

Sign in to Xbox LIVE with the account for which you want to use the prepaid code.

Press the Guide button on the controller.

Go to Games & Apps and select Redeem Code.

Enter the 25-character prepaid code and select Done.

When prompted, click Yes to confirm the redemption.

Here is what happens to your account when you redeem different types of prepaid codes:

Xbox 360 Entertainment For All Plan: You cannot “stack” or combine prepaid subscriptions during the life of the contract.

Xbox LIVE Gold Membership: An Xbox LIVE Gold Membership is added to your account, or an existing membership is extended.

Microsoft Points: Microsoft Points are added to your account.

Xbox LIVE Marketplace content: The content is added to your account and begins downloading.

Did you have a Gold membership prior to redeeming the code? You're showing as having a Gold membership now.

From what I remember to the best of my ability, you can have up to 36 months of gold time on a gamertag and that the membership term that you are looking to redeem will kick in once your current membership term expires. It's up to you if you want to go ahead
with adding a year of gold to your account or if you want to wait near the expiration date.

Regarding codes, unless otherwise stated on the card or with the code, you can buy some prepaid gift cards and redeem them at a later time. With that in mind, you can go ahead and buy the 12 month gold membership gift card and redeem it when you want to.
