Issue connecting my Xbox controller to my surface pro x

I'm so sorry for what you're going through, in Windows 10: Select the Start button, then select Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices > Add Bluetooth or another device > Everything else. Choose the Xbox Wireless Controller, follow additional instructions if they appear, and select Done.

Hi Sam,

Apologies for the delayed response when I tried the steps you posted earlier, it worked.

As per the comment above my settings for 2 of Xbox settings were also set to manual so changed those to automatic. I also had the IP service settings to automatic I selected a different option then changed it to automatic and then selected apply just incase.

My next issue however is that I can’t seem to use the PS5 controller with the surface pro X it says that it’s connected but I get no response, using the touch controls on the surface pro X seem to work.

I have the Xbox Series X and was playing remote play on my Surface Pro 6 , it won't load up every time I try to do remote play on my surface and I'm not near my Xbox

This may be an issue with app compatibility on the Surface Pro X. I would suggest reading this page to learn more: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/surface-pro-arm-app-performance

As Windows 7 is not fully compatible with the controller you may run into issues even with the drivers installed.

Well so far the controller works (all buttons register). Of course, I first had to connect it to my Windows 10 laptop (Surface Pro 4) to configure it via the Xbox accessories app.
