Issue adding an Alias to Xbox account

Hi,

I recently changed my main email account from Orange to an Outlook.com account.

I’d now like to associate this as an Alias to my XBox Account / Gamertag (which I’ve had for about 10yrs) and ultimately promote this to be my primary XBox Email address.

However, when trying to add it as an Alias, it says the account already exists (which i am well aware of). However, i dont want to create a brand new one to add and its clearly not a non-Microsoft address so not sure how to proceed?

Any advice?

However, when i get to the ‘Create New Email Address...’ or ‘Add an Existing Email Address...’, i obviously choose the Add Existing option but when I enter my *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. *** email address, I get the error:

” This email is part of a reserved domain. Please enter a different email address”.

This is my issue, it wint let me add my current email as an Alias...?

According to Microsoft when you remove an alias it cannot be re-added, added to another account, or recycled. I recommend creating a new alias and adding your account.

Unfortunately there is no way that you can add the Hotmail email back to the MS account. Once you removed it from the account since Hotmail is a MS product it attaches it to the account that it is originally setup with once removed it is actually not able
to be added to another MS account. Including adding it back to the account that it was originally setup on.

Unfortunately there is no one that can do that for you either.
