Is this feature available?

No,not yet.It is coming but no date has been announced yet as to when.

I should have mentioned that it's the slim version and I bought it online. Is the network hardware really broken? I can get a Internet connection but nothing that requires one can I use.

We understand this can be frustrating or even confusing. I would suggest checking out our

"I'm getting randomly disconnected from Xbox Live".

From my understanding, this can be caused by the network. I did look into this just to see if others have had this same issue and some stated they needed to open their ports. First try out the link above. If that does not work then please provide the results
here and we can move on to the port forwarding.

Sorry for the issues with connecting. When you purchased the console was it from a store or an individual? Sounds like the network hardware may be bad in the console. You can try taking it to a friend or family member that has internet also and try and connect.
Also The first Xbox 360 needed a wireless adapter that plugged into the back of it. If you can try to connect with a ethernet cable.
