    I have two Microsoft accounts, one being my main account that I actually use and the other only existing because its the account logged into my computer.
    The account on my computer was set up by a family member and gave me a random email that I do not use. I originally bought Minecraft bedrock through the Microsoft store so that version is tied to my non active account. I later bought java edition on the account that I do use. Because of the two versions being on different accounts, even if I have access to both and near identical usernames on them, I do not qualify for the Minecraft vanilla cape.

    I understand transferring or merging can't be done for the two Minecraft accounts. I technically qualify for the cape if not for the two accounts. With the cosmetic being a "common" cape when searched, I feel even more grief that I'm unable to obtain something a lot of people have. This is only amplified with the 15th anniversary where there are a lot of free cosmetics being given out. I am now only left with a wasted account that I can't do much with and can't be refunded.

    I now ask whether there is something that can be done or something I can get for buying both versions of Minecraft before you could get both with the purchase of one. It is something very simple but this means a lot to me. I know that reasonably there isn't much I can do but I still wanted to see if there was something that could possibly be done.

    Hello. I had the same issue as well a while ago!

    You can try to run an older version of the Launcher and try to login with that version. You'll still have options for new minecraft versions but if it is a bug, this could fix it!

    Minecraft does have a system that allows only one email to be logged in at once, you could try creating a family in your Microsoft account and doing something that way.

    If there's no luck you can always contact a bank, and give them a statement with the purchase and try to get a refund and buy the account on a different email!

    Windows 10 minecraft and java edition are both two different types of Editions unfortunately you would have to buy the java edition on the minecraft website.

    No. The java and bedrock editions are two separate versions of Minecraft. Paying for one wont get you the other. If you want both then you would be paying for both.
