Is there no direct way to contact xbox support?

I purchased a xbox live gold key online. It was listed as usable in the united states. Put it in and xbox says it is for wrong region and to contact seller. Seller needs a screen shot of a coversation with xbox support showing the problem is the code before
they will replace. But xbox support is a rats nest of circular pathways all leading to common troubleshooting topic. Ive tried like every combo of topics and all of them say not available for phone or chats. Im at a loss here

You may be able to get through to an agent this way;

beta.support.xbox.com/contact-us

Select the Virtual agent

type "Talk to an Agent"

then select Xbox

This is where im coming from. There is plenty of articles and info. Go to contact us link, attempt to request call/chat by selecting problem from drop down menus. But none of them have phone or chats available
