Is there issues on publishing games on XBOX ONE in a none XBOX ONE listed country - Malaysia ?

Hi,

I registered with Microsoft Partner Center some time ago during Windows phone period.

Currently planning to develop UWP using C/C++ to publish games on XBOX ONE.

However, I am unclear if there is any issues on activating developer mode on the local XBOX ONE console available in Malaysia where Malaysia is not an officially supported XBOX ONE region country.

Most probably, XBOX ONE consoles available here were imported from other supported countries like Singapore.

QUESTIONS:

1. Can I activate developer mode on the retail XBOX ONE console bought locally in Malaysia ?

2. Can I publish games onto XBOX ONE and receive payment via a Malaysia company bank account registered with Microsoft Partner Center ?

3. Is there any well known and established XBOX ONE console sellers in Malaysia that can recommends ?

4. Is all XBOX ONE console models support developer mode activation ?

5. Finally, may I know what takes Microsoft so long ( almost 14 years ) to recognize Malaysia as an official XBOX supported country ?

One malaysia is not a xbox live supported country

You would have to join either the ID@ https://www.xbox.com/en-CA/developers or join a development team

You can receive payments but you wouldnt be able to publish in the malaysia marketplace as it doesnt exist

Government regulations and taxation play into the availability of games and online services

Since no console support malaysia yet you are going to.have to.talk to.your commerce agency

ngocphi, can I use the Xbox Live Creators Program to publish games to other marketplace for XBOX ONE and receive the payment as usual since I already a registered Microsoft Partner Center instead of via ID@Xbox program ?

We won't have that information for you on the community forums since these are questions only the creators of this program can answer and the program creators do not have a presence here on the forums.

Best thing to do is check out the Creators program page and down towards the bottom there is a contact us link.

You may also need to transition to the L:
ID@XBOX program and you can ask them your specific questions about what to do in a region that is not supported by Xbox Live. They have a Twitter account where you can ask them questions.
