    Is there anyway to get my original gamertag?


    I recently wanted to change my gamer tag to my original, but I had an older account on an Xbox 360 that already had the name. I forgot about the account when I got my series S and didn’t sign into it, instead making a new one. The name on the account was completely original, SutterBock, there’s not a single other person with the name even remotely close. This has been my tag on PlayStation for years, and i recently switched to Xbox, but forgot about the account I had on that 360. I just dug the 360 up and got signed into my old account with a password change, and changed the gamertag from “SutterBock” to “SutterBock77” so I could then change my main account I currently play on to just “SutterBock” without the ID next to it. Is there a certain amount of time before the gamertag can be claimed again? Or is SutterBock just not allowed to be used now? I really hate having the ID next to my name considering it is original, and the only two accounts on Xbox with it are both owned by me.

    You’re answer is not correct is the issue. It’s not about if I’m satisfied. I don’t know if you read my question wrong, but you’re answer was irrelevant to the question. I will wait for an actual Microsoft employee to respond to it.

    I do not understand. The gamertag is SutterBock, this is only 10 letters. My current gamertag is SutterBock with an ID of 7286 next to it. It’s not too long of a name. It was originally on a second account of mine and I just changed it today, and when I try to change my current to just SutterBock with no ID next to it, it just keeps trying to put an ID next to it still although the gamertag SutterBock with no additional numbers is not not in use.

    His.name.is only 10.characters

    @op.you.well.have.to.wait.for.the.name.to.be available just leep .trying till you have no hashtag when changing.it

    Keep.in mind if .it. Tells you you going to get a hashtag .don't .accept and.just. Cancel.and keep.trying latwe

    If.you accept.the.hashtag.then it.creates.a mess you have to.change the name to free up the name.again and then wait again so pay attention
