Is there anything my friend can do to either get his account back or cancel his subscription?

My friend is having an issue with account recovery. He has the right email and password however there has been suspicious activity on his account so it has to be recovered. The recovery isn't working as it has been attempted to be recovered too many times. He put all the information in for the recovery details however it was deemed to be insufficient. His account was only used for Xbox therefore didn't ever log into to use emails through that address. His recovery method is registered as an old mobile number of a phone that was stolen (currently shown to be in Iraq on find my phone). He is currently logged onto that account in a game app however can't log in anywhere else. There's no contact email for Microsoft to provide photo evidence and the whole recovery process/live chat process it a roundabout of unhelpful requests. Unsure on how to proceed. If unable to recover the account he needs to end the subscription associated which is also a seemingly difficult task. It would be a shame to lose that account with so much money and time put into games, erasing over 10 years of his gaming life. Any suggestions on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated, microsoft seem to avoid human contact when it comes to helping someone with DPA breeches.

Hello Josh, ask to your friend to contact Xbox Customer Service via chat and request an ATO (Account Takeover), this is because this forum is public viewing and unfortunately as independent consultants we do not have access there is some data and procedures that Xbox Support has.

However, ATO is a similar procedure to the online form, but done by a Microsoft agent, it will need as much information as possible for you to do the procedure.

Here in the community we are independent consultants, so we do not have access to the same information and tools that support has.

Each account recovery case is unique, and if you request the ATO, you must wait for a response from Microsoft's investigation department.

Yes, you will have to pay the outstanding amount before you can do anything, after which you can either turn off auto renewall or cancel the subscription immediately.

I signed my son up for Fornite Crew on Xbox, but now want to cancel. We have tried for two weeks to cancel. He does not have his own Microsoft account. He has a child account under my Microsoft account. When I go into my account, the subscription is not there for me to cancel. When I go into his child account, it does not show there either nor on the Xbox site but it does show in his Fortnite profile that Fortnite Crew subscription is active. I tried the Microsoft web page but there is NO way to cancel. I also cannot cancel on Epic Games. I hope someone can help me as I keep on getting the Virtual Agent and no call back or assistance from a living person.

If you are unable to login to deactivate the subscription, there pretty much isn't anything you can do about it. You will have to access your old account to cancel / deactivate the subscription.

my friends list is empty but my sons isnt both accounts are linked to same email on his account im on his list and it shows im online. anything i can do to fix this? lol i called xbox live, didnt get very far before it told me to "call back later, goodbye"
