Is there any way that I could still merge an old Minecraft account to Microsoft?

I haven't played the desktop version of the game for a while, and when I tried to sign back in and redownload, I couldn't sign into the account that I already had with a purchased copy of Java Minecraft. I wasn't aware of any account merging and must have missed it. Is there any way that I would be able to still play the game without having to purchase it again? Additionally, the Microsoft account that I used to sign in used the same email I had for the Minecraft account.

If you deleted the old launcher, then I don't believe there's a way to get it back. Also to answer your question, that isn't a bug. When Minecraft accounts were Migrated to Microsoft, your Minecraft account was converted to the Microsoft account you merged it to. This means, you can't use the Minecraft account to sign in anymore and only the Microsoft account will work.

Unfortunately I don't believe there is a way to merge accounts. Do you still have access to your old account? You could easily go online with it and pay for a GamerTag change.

There is no way to merge accounts. All your content would still exist on the old GT.

No. You would have had to contact the enforcement team back when it was first banned to see if they made a mistake and that could have lifted the ban if possible, but they do not review bans that are over 12 months.
