Is there any way i could add/change my backup email for my microsoft/xbox account email...

But i wouldn't want to have any ties with my father's email for the xbox account, surely xbox and Microsoft are separate in some ways, i know Microsoft owns xbox but like you should be able to change an the email address linked to the xbox account instead of having to add an alias or anything to an xbox account. All i would want is to transfer the account to this email no trouble or anything, i get that you're an advisor, but would xbox support or any of the support team be able to sort this or is the only way is to add an alias?

No, you can't delete only the Xbox account of your email, but even if you could you won't be able to add that email to the old account, as the email has already been used on a Microsoft account.

To change the email address on a Microsoft account you will need to create that email during the change process, unless you will add an external email.
