Is there an end to the infinite captchas that I’m cycling through?

We understand that you're having an issue with creating a new Microsoft account due to being stuck in the captchas.

This issue may have been simply caused by our servers since this appears to have happened during the holidays when user numbers peak. Or it could also be a problem with the Internet connection or device you are using when creating the account. So let us work together as a team to get to the bottom of this. But to better assist you I need to ask:

1) From the device you’re having an issue, can you tell me if you’re getting all green checkmarks when visiting the following links?

(a) https://portal.office.com/ServiceStatus

(b) https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-live-status



2) If you're using your Xbox device to create the account, can you try using another device like a computer or a mobile device and see if the same issue occurs? Use the link below.

3) Have you tried using a different Internet connection and see if the issue occurs? Something like the mobile data in your cellphone just to isolate that it's not an issue with your main Internet connection.

I made it through the first hour on hype alone in Infinite....Then I just got bored. How was the ending?

I can confirm that nothing works. I have tried both captchas (auditory and visual) in multiple browsers on multiple devices with multiple email accounts in incognito and regular mode.

There is a bug in the captcha. When you do it wrong it definitely shows a failure, but when you do it right it just starts over at the beginning. It looks like its stuck in an infinite loop.

This appears to have been broken for multiple days. I found another thread where someone else is experiencing the same problem since 9/1/2022.

@Vernier -- the problem is the CAPTCHA isn't the end game. If one simply selects CANCEL to the CAPTCHA it then allows you to restart the process and gives you 8 more attempts. To expect script something like this, fairly easy. Thus you have 24x7 unlimited
attempts to brute force an account.

As for the comment on short and simple password - I don't disagree.
